TÜMATA & Wild Heart Free Soul invite you to
Seminar with workshops & whirling dance of the dervishes
from 22.06. until 06/24/2018
The tradition of Sufi mysticism is strongly interwoven with the nomadic peoples of Central Asia. Their messages have been uniquely fused with the knowledge of those peoples for centuries.
For more than four thousand years there has been a lively cultural and scientific exchange between the high cultures of Asia and Europe, whose geographic bridges are Turkey and Spain.
Some people miss that naturalness in their own lives that is reported in the songs of the musicians and the patterns of masterfully woven kilims.
Today, many people learn about the living culture of “the Asian nomads” via the Internet, which is characterized by their stable bond with nature.
However, there are also real gathering places where people from all continents are in regular, for example weekly exchanges. In these places, the love of unity is expressed through dance, music and song.
In 1971 the Sufi Dr. Oruc Güvenc the research group TÜMATA. She researched the music of the Turkish baksi (shamans). Today the music therapy according to Dr. Güvenc spreads in the west and relieves mental and physical ailments. This shows that even today we can find elements in all cultures of the world that support our fellow human beings. Exploring the tradition of nomadic weaving is another enriching element that is becoming more and more accessible to the West. While the sounds of traditional instruments acoustically convey a form of well-being, the color compositions, the healing power of the symbols and the texture of the kilims convey visual and sensory harmony.
In the upcoming seminar, the master of the Sufi tradition, Yasar Güvenc, will introduce the tradition of Turkish mysticism, which has its roots in the craftsmanship of the nomadic indigenous peoples. He explains modern ways to self-knowledge. This path to self-knowledge leads to an understanding of one's roots, which are to be found in nature and even further, in the Oneness of Being (Wahdat al Wujud), which Sufi masters of all paths are able to tell about.
If we manage to find a bridge between West and East, we can bring the treasures we have collected back home and offer them to our fellow human beings as gifts.
